Covina United Methodist Chorister Choir

Chorister Choir meets Sundays, 9:15-10:30a.m., in Room 204, Education Bldg., from grades 2 to grades 8. All children are welcome!

We learn to read musical notation, unison and multiple-part singing. There are opportunities for solo and small group singing experiences. They enjoy music in a Christian setting. We sing in worship about once per month. A children’s music camp is held at the church for two weeks in the summer, culminating with a children's musical. We are sometimes invited to sing in special concerts and festivals.

Covina United Methodist Church Cherubim Choir

This Choir is for our very youngest children ages 3 to 7. 
Music does for the young child what it does for all human beings.
It provides a personal, intimate, and beautiful means of expressing thoughts and feelings. Music communicates ideas better than words alone, and to the child, the process is a happy and exciting one.  The fundamentals of pitch and rhythm are
introduced through a variety of music activities.  New anthems, hymns, and Bible songs are taught by note.  The Cherubim Choir sings in worship services throughout the year, including Advent, Palm Sunday, Mother’s Day and other special occasions.

The Aldersgate Chorale is the premier musical organization.  This choir for adults and youth sing every Sunday in the 10:30 am worship service.  They sing a variety of music styles from contemporary to classical.  This group participates in three major concerts a year; The Christmas Dessert Concerts, Easter Week Concert, and for the last two years SpringSation.  They rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 pm in the choir room at West end of the sanctuary. They are directed by the church Music Director, Michael Adam.
 
The Celebration Handbells ring on a monthly basis in the 10:30 am worship service.  This five octave handbell choir also rings in special concerts throughout the year.  SpringSation is their highlight concert of the year where they ring with three other handbell choirs, orchestra and large choir. They are directed by Michael Adam, the church Music Director.
 
Christmas Dessert Concerts is a series of concerts held in mid December 11 & 12.  The entire music program of the church works together to present this concert for the church and community.  It features multiple choirs, handbells, orchestra, drama and a delicious Christmas dessert.  
 
SpringSation is a multi denominational concert put on by the ARISE Joy Ringers and many churches from the Southern California area. Covina United Methodist has hosted and supported this ministry since 2009. It is on the third Sunday of May each year. The concert includes 3 bell choirs, a large adult choir, youth and children, dance, banners and a patriotic salute.
