Hello Young Adults Having Occasional Outings, aka Y.A.H.O.O.

I know that we are all busy with life but also would like to stay connected to our church and that is exacting why Y.A.H.O.O. was formed. We are a group of young adults (single, married, parents, students, working, church members and non-members all are welcome) typically between the ages of 18 and 30ish who simply want a grown-up version of U.M.Y.F, a group of fellowship and service. My goal is to make our presence known in our church and as a fairly new group I think we have taken steps in the right direction. Here is a bit of a recap of our summer and some future dates to look out for. Thanks for all your support and if you haven’t joined it’s never too late, hope to see you at future events.

Y.A.H.O.O. NEWS

Young Adults Having Occasional Outings was busy this summer and is continuing to be active.

In May we started off with a pizza and planning meeting which came up with great ideas and plans for the future. On Memorial Day we hit the beach for a day in the sun and a bon fire at night. In June Y.A.H.O.O. held a Popsicle sale which rose over $50 for the dimes for hunger fund. July brought heat along with a Pool Party/ BBQ plus we were able to provided dinner for the first Wonderful Wednesday. August flew by with many members on vacation. Most recently we were seen on Rally Day in September face painting and soon after having fun at the local bowling alley.

While keeping up with busy schedules filled with work, school and family Y.A.H.O.O. strives to remain connected to our church. Keep an eye out for these and other Y.A.H.O.O. activities to come:

*Sunday November 16th No Turkey Thanksgiving 6:30pm at Covina UMC in the conference room. No Turkey Thanksgiving is a yummy side dish only potluck to kick off the holiday season.

*Sunday December 14th Christmas Movie & Dessert Night 6:30pm at Valerie & Omar Kuns’ home. Come indulge in sweet treats while we watch a Christmas classic.
