Cherub Choir

Children's Tone Bells

This
bell choir consists of children ranging between 6 and 10. These
children learn to recognize notes while playing familiar songs like
“Jesus Loves Me” and “Jingle Bells”. They
also learn more songs that may be new to them. Some of the children
involved have had no other contact playing a musical instrument
and enjoy the time immensely.
On
occasion, the children are asked to perform these songs that they
have learned in our Sunday services. They take great pride in standing
before the entire congregation playing their bells for all to hear.
They
practice each Sunday after the 10:30 service in our Education building
located on the church property. Directing the “Children’s
Bell Choir” is Ms. Norma and she is assisted by Mr. A.J.
Chorister Choir

The Chorister Choir
encourages children grade two through eight to sing and worship
the Lord. The group rehearses each Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:15
and sings in worship every four to six weeks. In the Spring, they
take the lead in Music Camp for all of the children in the Church.
Kids read cripture, make music and crafts, dance and act at the
yearly event. The two weeks are highlighted with a 'sleep over'
at the Church and the performance of a Musical complete with sets
and costumes.
Gospel Quartet

One Voice is a mixed gospel style
quartet at Covina UMC. Tom, Dorcas, Michael, Sandy, and Marilyn
combine their talent in beautiful worship. The group sings in worship
as well as special events at the Church and for groups throughout
the community. They enjoy singing a variety of styles in addition
to gospel and are always inspiring to hear.
Aldersgate Choir

The
Aldersgate Chorale meets every Wednesday night from 7:30-9:00 PM
in the Choir Room behind the Sanctuary. The Chorale leads congregational
worship with traditional and contemporary styles of Music. High
School through Adult singers of all abilities make Music, laugh
and share during worship, rehearsals and special events. Some of
the highlights of the year include a Musical Theater Concert each
Spring and combining with Pipe Organ, Hand Bells and Brass on Easter
Sunday and Christmas Sunday.
English Hand Bell Choir

The Celebration Bells
meet every Sunday morning from 9:00-10:00 AM in the Sanctuary. The
Bells play a variety of music including everything from Brahms to
prayer choruses. Each liturgical season, the Bells play in the Worship
Service, and they have even been known to shlep all five octaves
of Bells to a special event or two. There are a lot more Bells than
players, so all are welcome!
Pipe Organ

Marilyn
plays the thirty nine rank Abbott and Sieker pipe organ each Sunday,
as well as for weddings and funerals. Marilyn has been playing the
three manual romanic style instrument for over thirty years. The
instrument was custom designed to play in
the Covina UMC Sanctuary and is accentuated by the beautifully designed
acoustics.
